Brian Timmons Dear friends, When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly newsletter -determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own. Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have re-sales and rental availability. Our Lives
Weather: Winds are increasing as per normal... continued dry without hint of rain... mostly sunny skies ...mostly 23C / 77F and cool (for us) nights. What Happened This Week:Condo Administration: Speed bumps and hiccups: the team has frayed / it seems we had not developed a clear vision and were not all on the same page. I am not interested in fighting with team members / been there / done that... not interested in volunteering in a situation where there is discord. It is unfortunate, but that is the way life is... I still know how to source materials and people, define projects, analyze problems, and set priorities. and with the spare time, I have mostly caught up with lagging items and have actually been able to focus on future projects -several opportunities have crossed my path that I am considering. Quite a different situation than I have been in for several years. and again, it is the reason I was / am reluctant to devote energy / time to restoring a condition that others ruined (garden and infrastructure) and am not going to do it under duress. I re-strung the hammock and will re-define my area of contribution. Portugal / Spain: it is on the Sept. radar... planning meeting over beer and burgers... woopie!!!! we'll see how many are still alive and healthy enough to attend... Vacancies: we have actually had a fair amount of interest this past week but most of the interest has been at the two lower priced units. I rented 126 ($675) and have a low ball offer on 124 ($850) which I am resisting. Exchange Rate + misc.: currently 598 : 1. New Year's Resolution: To stay out of trouble... short and sweet... difficult to do in CR... We'll see... and to remember a younger friend's observation: it is easier to stay away from trouble than to get out of it... |
