Brian Timmons Dear friends, When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly newsletter -determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own. Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have re-sales and rental availability. Our Lives
Weather: We are into the dry season... winds have started and will get progressively stronger... no rain, few clouds, beautiful but we need to keep the plants happy... Nature is not doing it for us... What Happened This Week:Heredia House: It closed!!!!! blood pressure is normal... wow!!!!!! Condo Administration: we are preparing for a shareholder meeting and will be establishing some proper "business admin" systems which will probably produce some yelling and screaming... until the reasons are revealed and then I expect silence and passive aggressiveness... so be it... We have had sloppy mgt for years and as we get into it further and further, we are having to rectify the "country club" and "friends with benefits" issues... I have been there before and am too old and cranky to really care about the"... woo-is-me" syndrome. We continue to make progress on deferred mtnc. but it is slow to move ahead. The gardens look better than for they have for the past 6 years at this time of year and I fully expect we will be able to maintain this look and to actually enhance it. Ringing in the new year: with four vacancies and few clients, it will be a challenge filling these. Rents are already reduced but it will still be difficult filling them. Unfortunately, the Paradisus vacancy was a blow out of left field... the Chinese clients were suppose to be there for multiple years... guess their business model didn't work out... of course, no notice... yes they will loose their deposit(s) but I still loose. Both sets of high tech tenants cancelled their contracts within 6 mo... I am not impressed... |
