When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly news letter -determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own.

Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have resales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information.

WEATHER: Breezes have started... this means the trade winds are coming and with them, a change in the weather.

Offer 105: I have to work on the issues...

Christmas in Costa Rica: just like N. Am. without the cold weather... wonderful day and night... White Christmas seems a bit surreal... The country shuts down for two weeks including the news people as well. Not much to report... Traffic has backed off a bit as many people living in the Central Valley are at the beach...

One tenant disappeared again... unit 113 is back on the market for Rent. This is the second time he's disappeared. Before, he appeared after two months wanting the unit back, made up all the rent... he had had a motor cycle accident, broke his leg and cell phone and couldn't reach me. This time? I don't know but I'm proceeding on the basis that he will not reappear. Another tenant got thrown in jail in the US while dealing with a divorce issue. He too was held incommunicado but has now reappeared. Dealing with people is difficult and one never knows their issues... I am just left to deal with the results of their issues... After 40 years, I'm tired of it... I prefer the hammock and Ipad...

Costa Rica attracts record number of US tourists in 2015

December 21st, 2015 (ICR News) For the first time, Costa Rica recorded the entry of the one-millionth tourist in a single year from the United States in a new milestone.

US tourists this year accounted for 40 percent of all tourist arrivals in the country, according to officials.

The milestone was celebrated at the Juan Santamaria airport on Friday, with the arrival of Joel and Kristine Kratochvil and their three daughters.  The trip was the Washington state family’s first visit to the country, tourism officials said.

Tourism officials said that an improved US economy contributed to the historic milestone.
