All Quiet on the Southern Front & Rentals

Dear friends,

When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly news letter -determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own.

Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have resales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information.

More and more, the content will be dominated by events of our new project, "El Dorado" for short. While the future is always uncertain, I again aim to tell it like it happens -the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that is what follows.

Updates about Hacienda El Dorado

Rio Oro: While we're waiting on one party to get their money together (despite promises, it hasn't yet happened), the other party made us two offers. The first one was not interesting to us but the second one is and I have had further discussions with them. During the process we left ourselves open to proposals -we did not close the door to any options; we simply stated what our goal was and established a few minimum criteria. We then said we would entertain proposals. We had not anticipated what has been offered but it could work for us and presents a win-win opportunity. We're exploring it.

Our Lives

WEATHER: the dry, windy, summer season is beginning.

All in a Week's Living in CR:

I was actually looking for things to do until my mail pouch arrived via some friends. It contained issues which I have to deal with in Toronto... this is the downside of living in two places and continuing to meet the requirements of each... We are going for our Residency next week... hopefully, after three years and a lot of work and expense, all will go well.

There were so many protests that the head of the government left the country. On average, there has been one protest for each day of her administration... and another protest is in the making over the increase in marchamo (vehicle registration tax and mandatory minimum insurance).
