Dear friends,

When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly news letter -determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own.

Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have resales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information.

More and more, the content will be dominated by events of our new project, "El Dorado" for short. While the future is always uncertain, I again aim to tell it like it happens -the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that is what follows.

Construction Log
Updates about Hacienda El Dorado

Rio Oro: We continue to supply technical information to several groups helping them assess what we have accomplished... we'll see.

Residencias Los Jardines
Property Management, Rentals, Re-Sales

Market Activity: --

Sales: Three parties looking to purchase; no one looking to rent. One party each from Europe, the USA and CR.

Rentals: We have both 112 and 116 coming available March 1.

INTERNET Woes: We've had a lot of problems this week due mainly to our own equipment or system. While we spent a substantial time chasing a wagging tail, we seemed to solve at least one of the causes when we realized that somehow there were to machines having the same ID... how it happened we don't know nor does it many any difference... the issues which resulted from that masquaraded in different ways... however, that now seems to be fixed. In addition, we found that the two wireless routers in the center of the property were not working properly and had to be replaced. Getting everyone and everything sorted out took a major portion of the week.

PARKING: Each house has one designated parking space and we have visitor parking spaces. Residents are suppose to be responsible for ensuring their guests park in designated guest parking spaces and not just anywhere they feel like. This responsibility often doesn't happen and guests park without thinking of the consequences, e.g blocking someone entrance / exit. One such event happened on Friday resulting in a small fender bender. That, however, was only one aspect to it... depending on which version one listens to, a not so pleasant confrontation between the two parties followed. Police were called and somehow it got sorted out.

Our Lives

WEATHER: beautiful... not too windy and beautiful temperatures.

Internet: In addition to the Los Jardines site problem, my router charger/transformer had failed the previous week. This week, it was the back up disc...

Comment: This was a busy week. We had owners leaving after their three week vacation and an owner arriving for a month into the same unit. In addition to the goodbyes and the hellos, there's the preparation of the unit itself, collecting and giving keys, making sure the paperwork is accurate and completed. We also had a tenant leave as planned and a new tenant arrive the next day... again the same demands. In addition, I spent the better part of one day helping new owners buy a granite table -found the slab of granite and negotiated the design and price, went to the iron worker and selected a base for it, then the chairs, then the fabric shop and the cushions for the 8 chairs. All are suppose to be delivered this next Friday (hopefully the table base before the table top)... The total price was a welcome surprise to them as well as the turnaround time and they are getting exactly what they want... and then there was all the Internet issues floating around... not to mention the three dinner parties we managed to have... oh yes, there was the continuous suppling of info. to parties interested in El Dorado... and the potential purchasers...
