Dear friends,

When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly news letter -determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own.

Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have resales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information.

More and more, the content will be dominated by events of our new project, "El Dorado" for short. While the future is always uncertain, I again aim to tell it like it happens -the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that is what follows.

Our Lives

WEATHER: beautiful...

Arenal: The return trip from Arenal was interesting. The road around the lake which had for years been one of the worst of CR's roads, is now paved (and looks to have been paved for some time -my frozen memory of it was very different than it is now. Arenal is a beautiful area but it rains a lot there... somewhere around 400 inches a year. During our stay we, rarely saw the sun and not for long when we did -overcast and rainy all the rest of the time. Not for me. The three meals X 4 people were all forgetable and over priced. The Baldi hotel -entertainment complex reminded me of a poor "Disneyesque" attempt. Our friends went to the Tablacon Hot Springs; she slipped and cut / scrapped her arm but other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, did you enjoy the play???? We saw three accidents on the way back... all rearenders including being 4 cars in front of a triple rearend accident... Five miles away from Los Jardines, our car died... I recognized the symptoms... dirty fuel filter... we were able to get it started and made it another 3 mi. where it died again... we got it going again and made it to Los Jardines. Next day to the shop to replace the filter, clean the injectors and air filter... but the culprit was the fuel filter.

One of our guests returned to Canada and the other one who was having the final stage of dental work done, stayed on. The dental work is now down and is 100% working. A long ordeal but one that is now done and it should last him the balance of his life.

We were the grateful recipients of a large block of Stilton cheese and European style calamati olives... We've shared and enjoyed the conversation good food and booze bring.
