When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly news letter —determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own.
Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have resales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information.
More and more, the content will be dominated by events of our new project, "El Dorado" for short. While the future is always uncertain, I again aim to tell it like it happens —the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that is what follows.
In an effort to make the format more interesting and visually appealing and to field inquiries re. El Dorado, the news letter is now being distributed by Jan Kozak, Marketing Manager, Hacienda El Dorado. I will remain the author.

NOTE: We 've been having some distribution and formatting problems lately. Some people are not getting the newsletter, some are getting it late, some are getting it without the "OUR LIVES" section of it attached. We'll see if the issues have been resolved this week.

SETENA: We now have a fax of the final agreement. We should have the original agreement by Wednesday or Thursday.
Uso de Suelo--Land Use Permit: The amended survey is still being processed. When processed we expect theCity to issue this document.
Well Water: If the 15 day term given us last week still applies, then we have two more weeks to wait.
Timing: I met a guy this week who spent over 20 years getting permits. He is now building his first house. His task was more complicated than ours since he was building in the Maritime Zone. Regardless, if we use his yardstick, we should be happy with our progress to date.

Weather: Normal rain and sunshine... Plants and grass are happy...
Misc. & Corrections: Cheap Booze: More and more reports from people reporting great buys. The "Indigo" Hotel is not a Hilton brand but I'm told an Intercontinental brand. The procedure I had (colonoscopy and gastoproscy) was $400, not $200 as I wrote.
Playa Carrillo: We have guests and we took them to our favorite beach. The hotel was recommended by a friend building a fantastic house there...Hotel Leyenda (www.hotelleyenda.com). This is a new hotel with wonderful facilities and a really helpful, professional staff. Even though they do not have ocean view, they have a wonderful garden, attractive open air restaurant and large pool. They have a shuttle bus running to the beach where they have a trailer providing cold drinks, lounge chairs, fresh water showers, and they will also bring you a takout meal from their kitchen. You never have to leave the beach. We negotiated a deal for $88 taxes included for 4 people, one room... Most of the other hotels were absolutely dead--no clients at all and Samara looked pretty dead as well.
