Brian Timmons Dear friends, When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly newsletter -determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own. Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have re-sales and rental availability. Some readers may be interested in this information. Brian Timmons |

rentals & sales Paradisus Condos / Rohrmoser Each of the units consists of two bedrooms / two bathrooms, and a large living/dining/kitchen area. The floor plan of each of these units has eliminated the optional "den / office" divider. The result is a larger area offering more flexible furniture arrangements while still maintaining the option of including an office area. At 105m2 plus two parking spots each and storage locker, they offer a great opportunity for someone seeking views, security, central location, and first class, all round living... Our Lives
What Happened This WeekWeather: Normal... the wind's showed up... StoriesCovid-19 Fallout: Yes, it has hit here as well. Two deaths and 87 confirmed cases... Country has closed all the usual -government offices, schools, sporting events, social events, entertainment events, borders have been restricted to residents and citizens, restaurants have closed voluntarily or due to lack of patrons, restrictions on basic food items... rice, beans, etc. Some reports have mentioned scarcity of items... Certainly, the number of cars on the roads has decreased significantly... I know of people laying laying in supplies for a long time and are adopting a siege mentality... polishing their guns and checking their ammunition -perhaps naive but I am not one of those. We'll see. Trip to Caribbean: We were programed to be on a cruise ship doing nothing, being waited on, easy food and bars, entertainment, etc. Well after traveling to the end of S. Am., that didn't happen but our bags were still packed and plans were in place... We got an invite to our friend's hotel in Puerto Viejo... we went after doing an extensive shopping run for him... 4 1/2 hrs. there -road construction in full force... His internet and TV service had stopped working, we received "rumors" of the imposition of restricted travel coming Sunday... we decided to return Friday. Another busted trip to find peace and relaxation... Now the hammock is looking better and better... I am tired of traveling only to have to return... home is best, especially when I have someone doing my job... it is really, really quite... few cars, planes, trucks, motorcycles... people... I am going to use the time to catch up on sleep, rest, puttering, projects, etc... INS Suit: I received an up-date... There are at least 4 cases further advanced than mine. Like mine, INS has appealed to Sala 1 (Supreme Court). The Sala has denied the INS appeal and in one case, ordered INS to pay. We will see... but it does seem that the twists and turns available to INS are becoming more limited. We'll see. I am not spending anything yet... I have no confidence this BS is at an end... Meanwhile, the legal bills keep coming. Rentals: We rented one unit and that person is now living here. We had another looking -he has looked at lots and lots of places and makes low ball offers... To my knowledge, he has not yet gotten an acceptance... and he didn't with me... but with the virus sweeping the globe, the current vacancies are likely to remain vacant for some time. Accounting: Actually, the new accountant is catching up on Doneste / Residencias Los Jardines. She is now beginning on my work... we are getting the backlog sorted out and caught up... wow... when we are finished, I will feel a lot better... My "Temporary" Replacement: He is doing the job I expected he would do... he is resourceful and knowledgeable. I hope he remains... It has taken a long time to find the right person... we'll see what happens. |
