Brian Timmons Dear friends, When I started Residencias Los Jardines, I started writing a weekly newsletter -determined to tell all the good, bad, and the ugly. I knew some readers would be interested in the construction process. I expected others might be interested in the lifestyle of two people who had decided to live outside the box. For others, the adventures of Lita, the parrot and the cat took on an entertainment saga all its own. Residencias Los Jardines is finished. We periodically have re-sales and rental availability. Our Lives
Rainy Season... sometime perhaps... mostly calm / slight breeze -it is warm for us... 35C / 85F -not much indication of rain lately... What Happened This WeekVacancies: We still have a number and virtually no lookers. Accounting: we will be changing accountants... Compliance with new Tax Law: I still have not received an answer from my iquiry which by law... ha!... has to be answered in 10 days... well I am working on 30 days... A friend / owner at Los Jardines went to a tax seminar... there were so many questions, he did not get a chance to ask ours... he will follow up next week but his assessment (same as mine) is that the tax department is in such disarray with so many changes and that many of the rules and regulations (reglamentos) have not been written... how to implement the changes -laws cannot be enforced until the "reglamentos" are published. But there are some things which we will have to start working on... this will be a mess... Family: Had to make a trip to Canada... It snowed two days I was there and the plane had to be de-iced on Ap. 29... wow!!!!! could not wait to get back to 25C weather, sun, breeze, life out-of-doors, fresh air, tropical vegetation... flowers, water fountains, palm trees, green grass, etc. Aside from that, the trip there was one of necessity and virtually all aspects of it blended nicely into the continuing Cdn. winter... When away, I was able to put into place -with the help of a volunteer- and the temporary extension of responsibilities of existing staff -arrangements which allowed things to continue normally... don't know if I will ever be able to impress the "volunteer" again but he stepped up to the plate in my need... |
