(Part 4) don't think this "sale" is going to happen -- I got screwed. I accepted his offer and blew off a similar offer because he said he had cash and I didn't have to finance it..... well, think he was smoking something.... I haven't seen him or his "cash" and he is blowing me off.

Bye-Bye - Santa Fe: sold... the buyer (Canadian) got a good deal. He shouldn't have to spend a dime on it for a long time (I rebuilt it piece by piece)... sometimes that is the way the cookie crumbles.

Heredia House: Looking good / looking lonely -no calls.

Terror on the Home Front: This story made generated a lot of hilarity...

Bye Bye CR-Maybe?? We are suppose to leave for Crete on Wednesday via Condor to Frankfurt with a stop in Dominican Republic. Well a hurricane is heading to DR, and a general strike will create chaos around the airport so we may not even be able to get there. What a way to start an already stressful event. He doesn't have banking arrangements here so we had to figure out how to do it. We think we have it worked out... via Canadian accounts...

General Strike: The unions are unhappy with the government's proposals re. fiscal stability. They want to paralyze the country and force the government to negotiate. They were unwilling to meet with the government to talk... they opted for a week long general strike with the avowed purpose of shutting down the country. The last such effort was, according to what I read, 18 years ago... it must have been just before my time -I do not remember it nor know what the issues were at the time. Gas supplies are already threatened. Health services will be severely affected... my guess is that water and electricity repairs will be slow... the slow pace of government will come to a virtual standstill, banks will probably be open, stores, restaurants, bars will be open and private medical will be open, but travel will be chaotic... All the news was about the pending strike and efforts to avert it... all efforts seem to have failed.

Colon dumps: As I write, it is 578. This is up from 562 where it had been for several years. It has stabilized (?) for the past two days... has it reached a new rate and will it stay there? We'll see. I set up a new bank account to take advantage of Scotiabank's very high promo rate... it took 2hrs and the representative did not retain one piece of paper so had to retrieve it from me three days later... before he could submit the paperwork for the creation of the account... so a week and counting... I love efficient banks!!!!!! wish we had one here!.

Great Rental: We have a detached, two bedroom, two bathroom, vaulted ceilings, unfurnished house (an odd duck for us) for rent at Los Jardines... $800.
